User Manuals

The Technical Writing and Engineering Company provides user manuals to commercial, industrial, and military specifications. These manuals are created as “living documents” so that they may readily be updated. Our manuals are unique; they are performance oriented, easy to read, and visually appealing. Our manuals integrate business and technical needs. They can be used for process documentation, training, and administrative activities. We write with our customer and the end users in mind by:

 1.      Providing a Safety Summary at the beginning of each manual whose use (reading and understanding) was a mandatory prerequisite for using the manual and operating the equipment — in that order.

 2.      Ensuring that each operator has a complete understanding how the equipment works, as a complete system, and being able to clearly communicate such information via our manuals to others, when necessary.

It is very important to note that our instructions take into account the sequence of operation at hand while simultaneously considering the requirements and operation of attached ancillary and/or optional equipment whose performance could also be affected.

 3.      Providing crystal clear instruction in the design, theory, and operation of the machinery. This material included the use of large, vivid, detailed color photographs with callouts specific to the equipment and to the operation or the task at hand.

 4.      Using graphic art with icons that intuitively describe and/or identify the process and/or operation to be performed.

 5.     Providing sequential operating instructions that were specific to the task and/or operation to be performed, and doing so with logical explanations to enable the operator to understand the reason behind each command.

 6.      Using simplified North American English with emphasis on a one-word, one-meaning vocabulary throughout our manuals.
